Vintage Pleated Trousers
After months of design and production work, we are very pleased to introduce another product from the Bizzle collection for Spring/Summer 2023 which are Vintage Pleated Trousers in a beige color. Read the article below to learn more about the entire production stage and the process that went into their creation.
Work on the construction of the pants has already begun in October/November 2022. As with the sweatshirts, the main motivation was to create a product that we could not find for ourselves on the market. The pants had to have the right length, width, texture and material, which together would allow us to create a product that is versatile and essential for any closet. An additional challenge was to tailor the product for the widest possible audience-we knew that our small scale would only allow us to create a very limited collection. Therefore, we had to be sure that the pants would fit both a 190 cm person and a girl around 170 cm. We didn’t want to leave anyone without the opportunity to buy our product.
The first problem that took us the most time was the material. We didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of other brands by creating pants consisting mainly of polyester and viscose. We knew this was a shortcut and very average quality. We created Bizzle with the idea of changing the fashion market for the better, so we didn’t want to do something that is incompatible with us, while promoting a product that doesn’t meet 100% of our expectations. It took us nearly 4 months to find the material. During this time we contacted almost every knitwear manufacturer in Europe. Only one knitted fabric from a very small family-owned company met our requirements. As a result, the pants are created from cotton combined with a small amount of spandex. This guarantees that the pants have an amazing feel and definitely stand out in terms of quality and the feeling that comes with wearing them.
With the material selected, we could begin the process of designing the shape of the pants. Largely inspired by the 80’s, we wanted the pants to convey the charm of those years while fitting today’s standards. The pants were to both complement casual styling in vacation outfits and boldly be an indispensable element of very formal styling, fitting into the business ethos. Compared to the classic forms of pleated pants, we gently widened their form – we wanted to achieve an oversize effect, while not exaggerating their width.
Key in the entire design process was the length of the pants themselves. The most important thing for us was to place the pants gently on the shoe- making the whole form take on a more massive silhouette and allowing for a new shape. Fitting into the size range, the length was set universally- so that on a smaller person the pants at the bottom achieve a stacking effect, while on taller people the pants lie gently on the shoe.
The whole design is complemented by side pockets, which have been appropriately deepened so that you can easily keep your accessories or phone in them. For the pants we used wooden buttons, which give off a vintage vibe, while at the same time at the back we used Bizzle eco-leather in navy blue, which perfectly matches the beige whole and breaks the light color adding a unique character to the whole product.
The sizing has been adjusted for men’s as well as women’s figures. The M and L sizes were created with a wider waistline in mind, while the S has been adjusted accordingly and their size better captures the female figure. The pants can be worn with both the waist and lowered slightly to the hips. The variety allows you to achieve different leg lengths, and thus the fit of the pants at the hips allows you to choose the level of fabric stacking on your shoe.
